Evaluation of Capacity/ Skill Development Programmes held for Artisans/ Craftsman/ Entrepreneurs/ Working with Bamboo and Cane Handicraft by North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Limited (NEDFI) at Bamboo & Cane Development Institute Agartala.
The evaluation was headed by Mr. Goutam Chintey (DGM), NEDFI. Mr. Bijan Saha, Branch Manager and Mr. Biswadeep Chakraborty, Executive Assistant, NEDFI also assisted him in evaluation of the programme. This programme has been held on 20th August, 2010 at BCDI Agartala. There was overwhelming response from the trainees in the programme and around 250 trainees participated.
The programme was started with formal inaugural followed by check distribution and presentation of BCDI and schemes under NEDFI. Some technical issues such as importance of selection of suitable bamboo species, availability and commercially viable technologies for manufacturing certain handicrafts, introduction and description about HRD programmes were discussed by Mr. Panse. Mr. Manoj Ghosh and Mr. Johan Kwong, designers of BCDI and NCDPD explained about various aspects of design and its importance in bamboo handicraft. Feedback from Crafts persons, Artisans, Entrepreneurs and middle men was also taken. The suggestions were invited through discussions from artisans regarding importance of programme, time limit, any improvements if they need etc.
Mr. Chintey appreciated the efforts of BCDI and assured his support as and when necessary on behalf of NEDFI.
The programme was ended with vote of thanks by Mr. Manoj Ghosh.
