B.C.D.I. Participated in a State level Science fair jointly organized by Tripura State Council of Science and Technology and Sate Council for Educational Research and Training, from 28th Dec2010 to 1st Jan 2011. The Theme of the fair was, “Science & Technology for Challenges in Life” Several Government bodies, autonomous institutions and NGO’S and educational institutions from the state and the other parts of the country participated in the fair. B.C.D.I. won second prize for the best exhibitor besides appreciation from various segments of the visitors
B.C.D.I. took the opportunity to showcase modern technological developments in field of bamboo and cane application. To achieve this the B.C.D.I. stall exhibited protoypes from integrated design projects on cane and Bamboo and highlighted the modern aspects of designing and manufacturing to match international standards. A slide show detailing various steps and procedures required for mechanized processing of bamboo was another highlight of the stall. Another slide show detailing various activities of B.C.D.I. such as Human Resource Development program, Integrated Design Development Program, Student awareness workshop and Bamboo technology center was on the show throughout the Science fair. Besides, the dedicated Team B.C.D.I. ensured a one on one detailing of B.C.D.I. activities even in peak visiting hours.
The overwhelming response to the B.C.D.I. stall at the fair as evident by visitors remarks recorded on the visitors register as well as a second prize awarded to the institute marks a warm welcome to the rejuvenated B.C.D.I. under N.C.D.P.D. This also marks the first success for the BCDI from among many more to come in the new year. |
